Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before using the services of BoundAries Leather operated by Sabine “Ariss” Grutter aka BoundAries Leather (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of BoundAries Leather is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who wish to access or use our services.

By entering a project with BoundAries Leather, you are legally agreeing to our terms & conditions. Last updated Dec 21, 2020.

Order Cancellations:

For any project that has been entered into our system and subsequently asked for return for any reason is subject to a $15 ‘destocking’ fee, which covers the cost of processing fees and our time. Orders can not be cancelled after any work has been started.

Timelines:

Our timeline is always an estimate. Projects may be returned a few days before or after the estimated date with the exception of projects who paid a rush fee. If your project needs to be returned for a certain date & you didn’t let us know, please contact us to update your file. Rush fees may apply.

Any item that is put ‘on hold’ for confirmation of a detail is put back into the queue as if it were just entered in the system. Any order waiting on a part to be delivered is entered into the queue when the part arrives. Any item coming in for a correction is entered into the queue as a new ticket. There is no ‘reserving’ a spot in our queue: aka all items must be in-house for the order to be valid.

Warranty:

All our work comes under a limited warranty.

All our sewing on motorcycle & BDSM leathers is done with industry standard double-bonded 69 thread with a double stitch for ultimate strength. None of our work is guaranteed to withstand a motorcycle crash, partial or full weight suspension, or rough treatment. BoundAries Leather is not responsible for any injury or death caused by the use/misuse of products falling under our service.

For all minor defects (popped stitches, failed rivets, ect) we will happily repair the item. Please note, we ask customers to pay one-way shipping on items returned for re-repair.

For all redyes, we guarantee a sealed finished item that will not run in the rain. If your item is rubbing off color, without excessive force, please bring it back and we shall re-apply extra coats of our sealant (resolene). We DO NOT guarantee an even color distribution (due to the unique nature of leather, and particularly with non-black redyes, some spots may have a deeper hue than others) or a perfect level of ‘shine’.

For items that were mis-altered (too large, too small), we apologize. This is an extremely rare occurrence. We do will our best to rectify the alteration to the best of our abilities. Any items that were altered to the specifications of the customer, where the customer refused a fitting, are exempt from free modifications (please, trust us to fit your items!).

All custom orders are completed to the specifications of the customer; any order that meets these specifications but appears different from the imagined final products are not eligible for re-makes, return or refund. Custom orders are never valid for returns or refunds. We ask you to be very specific in your needs and wants for custom orders! Custom orders often fall under limitations related to the leather and hardware specified and final details are ultimately up to us to determine.

For any item where the work is considered unsatisfactory by the customer but passes our professional standards, BoundAries Leather has the right to determine the best solution. Work that has been completed must be paid for and the industry standard for unsatisfied customers is to sometimes return either the full amount or the item, but not both. We do not offer refunds or discounts on completed work.

Repairers Lein / Unpaid Accounts:

All items must be paid in full before being returned. BoundAries Leather reserves the right to hold items until they are fully paid under the Repairers Lein Act. We will hold the items for 90 days, give multiple notices of payment due, and eventually donate or sell the item in question.

The Repairers Lien act can be found here: https://www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca/civix/document/id/complete/statreg/96404_01

Unclaimed Orders:

We happily hold an item for pick-up for 90 days. If an order is unclaimed after 90 days, and multiple notices, that item is subject to be donated or resold by BoundAries Leather. Please pick up your items!

Shipping:

BoundAries Leather is not responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail. We default ship all our items with tracking, unless specified. Please note, the cheapest US shipping (US Air Small) does not come with tracking. For items lost in the mail, we offer to remake the item at wholesale pricing.

Personal Information:

Personal information is required to access our services. Name, e-mail, phone number and a shipping address are all stored on our intake software Geelus or Etsy. We do not store credit card information. BoundAries Leather agrees to not share personal information (unless legally required to). We are not responsible for information lost due to internet hacking.
