Leather Pink Triangle Patch

$25.00

A leather pink triangle patch – a symbol reclaimed by ACT UP activists.

This leather patch honors Queer history. The pink leather patch is about 4″ each side and is backed by a slightly larger black serged canvas, to allow for easy hand-sewing or safety-pinning onto denim jackets, vests or other gay attire.

The pink triangle has a long queer history. Originally used in Nazi Germany to denote gay men in the 1930s-1940s, the triangle was reclaimed and inverted by ACT UP activists during the 1970s “SILENCE=DEATH” AIDS awareness campaign. Ariss is pictured wearing it in the San Francisco Pink Triangle Memorial Garden.

From every sale, $5 will be donated to a charity of our choice (whichever feels most relevant/pressing). We regularly donate to the Residential School Survivor Fund, Islamic Relief Canada (Gaza Campaign), and the American Civil Liberties Society. A donation receipt screenshot will be sent with pick-up or shipping confirmation.
